Session Location Guide

So it’s time to pick out the best location for your session or thinking about locations before booking your session? Well, I’m here to help you by showing you my all time fave spots in the Connecticut area. I’m going to break it down by scenery to keep it all organized nicely!

Field/Open Space Vibes

Happy Landings Preserve - Brookfield, CT

Happy Landings is basically our origin story. We started out learning how to run the business here and you’ll find this is a local fave for a lot of photographers in the area. It has two windmills and definitely gives off some midwest vibes (or what I think those vibes would be, I’ve never actually been so feel free to tell me I’m wrong).

Huntington State Park - Bethel/Redding, CT

Huntington is another part of our origin story. There are a couple of different entrances, but if you do a session with me then we’ll be using the Sunset Hill entrance. From wildflower bushes to tall grass and distant views, we love it here. You also may get lucky and see a couple of horse riders which is just always a fun little thing.

Putnam Park (107 Entrance) - Redding, CT

I’ll be honest, was not always a fan of Putnam but we’ve grown to love it. Fellow ‘togs… this spot really teaches you on how to use the light in every way possible if you’re relying on only natural light. I highly recommend doing a scout prior to your session. This one does require a bit of an uphill walk on some loose rocks, but it gives off such whimsical vibes.

Southford Falls - Southbury, CT

I’m writing this blog post in the middle of a drought, so my thoughts on the actual falls are a little ehh right now. However, when the falls are lacking there are still a bunch of other spots to take some really amazing photos. The only downside is during the summer there are a good number of geese which ya know geese droppings to watch out for.
